Crossing Europe has hosted an annual window display contest for local shops since 2014, in which local shops, restaurants, salons and ateliers take part in creating a Crossing Europe festival atmosphere in Linz. With creative and uniquely decorated window displays, Linz gets ready for the festival week. In the week before the festival, the displays in Linz become small stages where various ideas and mottos relating to film are approached in an artistic way. Crossing Europe posters, postcards, bags, displays and more are used by the shops to create displays that highlight the festival throughout the city, welcoming international and regional audiences to the festival.

Here's how it works!
Conditions:
- Placement of a GOLDEN BAG display stand
- At least 3 Crossing Europe bags and 3 other Crossing Europe promotional items must be visible in your display area
- Shop windows must be decorated from 13 April until at least 3 May
- for participation until 9 April
Advantages of participating in our display window contest:
- Media presence and promotion, among others through our partners OÖNachrichten and Linzer City Ring and the Crossing Europe social media channels
- Invitation to the Golden Bag Evening with drinks, award drawing and free film screening as part of Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz 2026

Golden Bag Design Award
This prize is awarded by a jury- 500 pcs. Europack paper bags (Roma model in the design of your choice)

Golden Bag Shop Award
This prize will be determined by drawing on the Golden Bag evening; from all participating stores that meet the eligibility requirements
