STAU - Jetzt geht‘s Los

Halle/Neustadt, former GDR, 1992: Thomas Heise shoots a film about radical right-wing youths, showing them baking cake and cleaning boots, in the train and on the street, at the table with their parents and at the disco. The parents often do not approve of their sons’ new political orientation, yet sit there helplessly when their sons spout right-wing phrases. STAU is also a film about the parents’ generation and thus a film about life in the GDR and about social networks that no longer hold and perhaps never did really hold.
