Song of Songs

1905. A Jewish Shtetl. A boy and a girl fall in love with each other without even realizing that they are happy. The story of this unconcealed, childish love is simple: The children grow up. Shimek, the young man, doesn’t want to follow his father’s footsteps, so he chooses his own way and leaves the house. He forgets Buzya. It is only years later, when he receives the news that she is to be married to someone else, that Shimek returns to his native town. As for Buzya, she has not changed a bit. And Shimek now realizes that he loves her with all his heart …

Director's Biography
EVA NEYMANN, born in 1974 in the Ukraine, studied law and film directing in Germany. Her documentary and feature films have been screened and awarded at numerous international film festivals. Both House With a Turret and Song of Songs premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where the former also received the Prize for Best Film.
