We are happy to announce that a total of 14 jury members will be attending in-person in Linz. There they will decide on the winning films in the competition sections Competition Fiction, Competition Documentary, and Competition Local Artists. The entries in the competition section YAAAS! Competition will be judged by the YAAAS! Youth Jury.

For not quite a week, between 1 and 6 June, 123 current feature films and documentaries from 40 different countries are waiting to be discovered, including highlights from the festival season, innovative auteur cinema, and regional film productions. Once again this year, the people of Linz, as well as festival guests from both in and outside the country can look forward to creative decorations in the display windows of the inner city in Linz that make for that special festival flair. All those who decorate their display windows from 20 May to 6 June with promotional material from CROSSING EUROPE are eligible for great prizes – in cooperation with Europack, OÖNachrichten and Linzer City Ring.
Once again this year, the people of Linz, as well as festival guests from both in and outside the country can look forward to creative decorations in the display windows of the inner city in Linz that make for that special festival flair. The renown German avant-garde director and all-round artist Ulrike Ottinger created a gem in the form of a gripping autobiographical documentary with her film PARIS CALLIGRAMMES, that takes a look at her younger self from the point of view of the elderly artist. A tour will be organized by CROSSING EUROPE, Österreichisches Filmmuseum and Diagonale.

Christine Dollhofer transitions to Filmfonds Wien

Christine Dollhofer, who founded CROSSING EUROPE together with Wolfgang Steiniger in 2003 will relocate to Vienna in November 2021 and will head the Filmfonds Wien, the second largest Austrian film funding agency, and will therefore be handing over all agendas of CROSSING EUROPE after eighteen years of successful work.
