YAAAS! Young Programmers 2022

The YAAAS! Competition will show six current European film productions that were selected by the YAAAS! Young Programmers. The Young Programmers for 2022 have already been selected and have been taking part in an introductory program into the curation process of a film festival.

After 18 years of successful foundational work, Christine Dollhofer handed over the directorial agendas to Sabine Gebetsroither and Katharina Riedler. Also under this new leadership, CROSSING EUROPE is aiming to bring together the expectations of professional, as well as international and local audiences.

The City of Linz honors Christine Dollhofer!

Our outgoing festival director Christine Dollhofer was awarded the Great Golden Decoration of Honor of the City of Linz for services to culture.


Film Submission 2022

Films for CROSSING EUROPE 2022 can be submitted starting now! The submission deadline for the upcoming festival edition, which will take place from 27 April to 2 May, 2022, is January 7, 2022. Details HERE. 

MIOB in Shorts – Audience Award

Vote now for the „MIOB in Shorts“ Award 2021! For the Online Audience Award MIOB IN SHORTS (€ 1,000), 15 current European short films, nominated by the members of the European festival network Moving Images Open Borders, have been put to vote online until October 10. The MIOB IN SHORTS winning film will be awarded at FilmFestival Cottbus in November 2021.

For the Online Audience Award MIOB IN SHORTS (€ 1,000) 15 current European short films will be put to vote online.

FESTIVAL COMEBACK

After one year of a forced break due to the pandemic, the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival in Linz was able to realize its goal of presenting ambitious European film and offering the possibility enter into a direct exchange with the attending film guests. CROSSING EUROPE 2021 was one of the first festivals in Europe that was able to take place as an in-person film event in June.
