All Creatures Welcome
Das World Wide Web würde strukturell eine radikale Erneuerung der Demokratie erlauben. Doch immer mehr Staaten driften in Richtung autoritärer Gesellschaften, und ganz nebenbei wurde die größte Überwachungsmaschinerie der Menschheitsgeschichte geschaffen. Die Events des Chaos Computer Clubs, Europas größter Hackervereinigung, sind eine Art utopisches Spiegelbild des Internets in der realen Welt. Mit der Filmemacherin und unter dem Slogan "use hacking as a mindset" gehen wir auf ein dokumentarisches Adventure Game und sehen, wie die Hackerkultur den Herausforderungen unserer Zeit begegnet und zu einer möglichen Vorlage für sozialen Umbruch wird.
The world wide web would structurally allow a radical renewal of democracy, but more and more states are drifting towards authoritarian societies and en passant the largest surveillance machinery of human history has been created. The events of the Chaos Computer Club (CCC), Europe's biggest association of hackers, are a kind of utopian real-world reflection of the Internet. Together with the filmmaker and the slogan "use hacking as a mindset" we immerse in a documentary adventure game, explore "planet nerd" and do away with common clichés. We see how the hacker culture meets these challenges of our time and becomes a possible blueprint of social upheaval.
Director's Biography
Sandra Trostel
Sandra is a filmmaker, editor and new digital storyteller from Hamburg. In 2005, after almost 10 years as an editor for all genres, she began pursuing her own documentary projects and realized several music videos. Besides that she is currently working on her master’s degree in “Next Media” at the HAW Hamburg, department of Informatics.
