Jupiter's Moon
Der syrische Flüchtling Aryan Dashni wird an der ungarischen Grenze vom moralisch korrupten Polizisten Laszlo erschossen. Doch anstatt zu sterben entwickelt der junge Mann übersinnliche Kräfte. Im Lazarett eines Flüchtlingscamps erwacht er mit der neugewonnenen Fähigkeit zu schweben. Das Wunder bleibt nicht lange unbemerkt: Sein behandelnder Arzt wittert in Aryans Kräften das große Geld und beschließt, ihn für seine Zwecke auszunutzen. Derweil macht Laszlo, der Angst hat, Aryan könnte ihn wegen des Schusswaffeneinsatzes melden, Jagd auf den Wiederauferstandenen.
Aryan, a young migrant fleeing Syria, is shot down by a trigger-happy cop, only to rise from the dead. Unfazed by his bullet wounds, Aryan soars into the dubious care of shady Doctor Stern - who sees the financial benefit of having a charge who can perform miracles on command in exchange for an extra fee. It's a double act straight out of Children of Men or, perhaps more appropriately, pre-millennial Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle End of Days: the innocent placed under the wing of the fallen and the faithless, finding purpose and redemption against the backdrop of a degraded society. Director's Biography
Kornél Mundruczó
Born in Hungary in 1975. “Pleasant Days”, his first feature, was awarded the Silver Leopard in Locarno in 2002. His second feature “Johanna” was presented in Cannes Un Certain Regard in 2005. “Delta” was in Competition at Cannes 2008 and was awarded the FIPRESCI prize. In 2010, “Tender Son – The Frankenstein Project” was also in Cannes Competition. In 2014, “White God” won the Prix Un Certain Regard.
