Pressure to perform, stress and precarious working conditions are unfortunately too often the rule rather than the exception in the film industry. While young creatives are increasingly shying away from entering this field of work, many representatives of the "work hard, play hard generation" are about to burn out or have already done so. Against this backdrop, Wolfgang Gumpelmaier-Mach from Creative Region Linz & Upper Austria hosts a discussion on work-life balance and resilience as factors for the future of the industry.

On the evening of the presidential election, August 9, 2020, a historic wave of protests broke out across Belarus, carried by tens of thousands of people of all ages and professions. This revolution is one of the 15 largest and longest waves of protest in the last 50 years, in some parameters even surpassing the Ukrainian protest movement of 2014 and the Venezuelan one of 2017. Despite their sheer size, the protests did not achieve their goal: society was unable to push through its demands for more democracy and freedom.
What now?
At fe:male positions - der Salon, philosopher, author and political activist Olga Shparaga talks about her time in captivity, her life in exile and what can be done now in exile. In her texts, she dedicates herself to a politics of care as a fundamental idea for democracy and freedom and repeatedly emphasizes the importance of solidarity among women*. An essay by Olga Shparaga on feminist utopia can be read in the book FEMALE UTOPIAS, published by Banglmayr/Baumann/Hochholzer (FEMALE POSITIONS), which will be published at the end of May.
